About
The objective of Rainbow Kidz is to build a clearer and more easily accessible training and competitive pathway for players aged 10 and under. The focus is on being introduced to competition and learn the rules for matchplay.

Orange and Green ball singles and doubles matches are included during events. The aim is to give skills for life, get children into the game improve tennis skills and learn the rules so when they transition into the u/12 section they are more confident and prepared.

Orange – For players that are physically too small to compete on the normal size tennis court, as the size of the court will allow technical, tactical, physical and mental competencies to develop. First time players are recommended to enter the orange section.

Green – For players that can score and have some match play experience, even if it was just practice matches. Also, for better players to develop the necessary tennis skills and be better equipped to transition into the u/12 section.

We recommend parents engage and receive advice from the coach on which section to enter. If you are unsure please contact us at

  Overall Experience
My son participated in U10 green boys section. Overall, it was a good tournament under a welcoming atmosphere at a well-maintained club. Communication can be improved regarding two points; 1) Draw should have been published not on Friday but by Thursday, and 2) No mention of Doubles in the information pack, therefore, some players/parents weren't aware of Doubles being played on Sunday after Singles. There were enough tournament officials placed to assist players and also to sort our issues such as line call disputes. I should mention that some parents of young players were concerned that there is no next step for players already experienced a couple of tournaments, while it is repeatedly stressed that the Rainbow Kidz event is set up for players to learn to be independent on court and get used to the rules.
